Another gorgeous day today in whisky country. Our wee @sykescottages holiday home in Dufftown has been the perfect base for exploring Moray. We started our day with a walk to the lonely ruins of Auchindoun Castle. The castle dates to the 1400s and its claim to fame is that one time owner Sir Adam Gordon murdered the entire household of Corgarff Castle (another lonely fortress) in 1571. Auchindoun was later torched in a revenge attack. I love castles in remote locations and this one’s a beauty. .
